Texas Tough Tomatoes

I planted this "Husky Cherry Red" tomato plant in the early spring. I planted it deep and used extra large sized containers. The plant is covered in tiny tomatoes. We pick a large handful every day from only one plant. My sweet 100's that I have planted in other states...are just not tough enough for Texas...but, the Husky cherry red are!

  1. Those tomatoes look lovely! We can't seem to grow much where we live now, sadly. The soils is so wet through bad drainage.

  2. I will definitely have to try these next year. The cherry tomatoes I planted never really set any fruits because it was just too darn hot down here near Houston.

  4. those tomatoes look really good! My dad planted 3 plants each in their own 5 gallon pail. First he cut a hole in the bottom, and planted the plant so the stuck out through the hole and hung upside down.

they grew like crazy and had tomatoes all summer long. It was really weird to look at them though, because they were upside down.
